FAQs

What should i expect on my first visit?

Expect to be treated with respect. Expect to be treated with dignity and honor. Expect that we will ask many questions, especially in the first few visits to get a full understanding of your situation so we can best serve and help you.

Your First Day Experience in our Discovery Room includes things you might expect and some things you wouldn’t. You’ll fill out brief paperwork with the basics and get you into a room with one of our doctors as soon as possible. We don’t like to wait either and we respect your time. Your Consultation will include your History, your Family History, your presenting symptoms and your health goals followed by a thorough Examination of your nervous system, your skeletal and muscular systems as well as functional assessments which may include Radiographic studies (x-rays). We will give you instructions and set you up for your follow visit, the Results Visit or Report of Findings. Here is where you will see why we are so different. You will learn about you! We thoroughly explain what’s going on, what is causing your problem, if we can help you, how long it will take and how much it will cost. We’ll cover our role as well as yours. We will answer questions and set you up to make the best possible decision for your situation.

(Special note about insurance):

Many people pay very high premiums for their “health” insurance, which usually cover things only when they are sick! Remember, life Insurance is only good when you’re dead… Some have incredibly high deductibles (we call this “phantom” insurance) or does not have chiropractic coverage in our office. This is why we verify your insurance before we present any numbers. We have extremely affordable cash plans as will as family discounts for those who have inadequate or no insurance coverage.

What are chiropractic adjustments?

Chiropractic adjustments are manually delivered treatments for misalignment and subluxation in the spine and other joints of the body. Adjustments are most commonly recognized as treatments for lower back pain, although they provide effective, non-invasive, and drug-free treatment to address a variety of ailments and conditions.

The chiropractic adjustment is a thrust applied to a vertebra at a high speed with some force. Often, this movement releases gas from the joint, creating the cracking or popping sound that many people associate with an adjustment. In most cases, the patient experiences immediate relief from the pain or symptom that brought them to Full of Life Chiropractic; though, if the surrounding muscles become tense through compensation for the imbalance, there may be some residual tenderness as the body becomes accustomed to being in the correct position again.

What conditions are helped by chiropractic adjustments?

Many patients seek chiropractic adjustments to address musculoskeletal pain in the back, neck, and hips. They also find that chiropractic adjustments help improve migraines and chronic headaches. Often, patients who’ve been in accidents — either in a car, during sports, or a slip-and-fall injury at work or home — find that chiropractic adjustments help restore their spines to the correct alignment. Whiplash, for example, is an injury commonly treated with chiropractic adjustments and care. The doctors at Full of Life Chiropractic advocate for overall patient health and wellbeing, and provide wellness care to many of their patients. Wellness care helps ensure that balance is maintained in the body, which allows the nervous system and other body functions to operate at optimal levels.

Can anyone have chiropractic adjustments?

Yes. The doctors at Full of Life Chiropractic offer treatment and care to patients of all ages. They’re specially trained to support the health and wellbeing of infants, children, and pregnant women. For example, the changes that a woman’s body goes through during pregnancy significantly effect her spine and hips, and a trained chiropractor helps her pregnant patient be comfortable throughout gestation and potentially eases delivery. The doctors also help elderly patients protect their wellbeing throughout the aging process. The doctors offer a holistic view of health and wellbeing and use chiropractic adjustments and other treatment modalities to help all of their patients achieve their best possible health and wellbeing.
